Since his launch in 2020, self-proclaimed “beach disco” producer, Mini Sants, has been rewarding listeners with his own take in nostalgic indie electronic music. Blending elements of French house, indie dance, sun kissed disco, and lofi, Brooklyn based Mini Sants has captivated an audience seeking summertime nostalgia all year long! The brainchild of surfer and watermen, Ryan Santiago, the name Mini Sants not only utilizes his lifelong nickname, but encapsulates his own history and sensibilities around the water.

“I actually started writing music and Djing when I was 17 or so on my moms desktop computer. I really started doing it because I figured out that’s what all the musicians and bands that were getting their music in surf videos were doing at the time…turned out it was also the easiest way to share with my friends all the music I’d find back when hipster blogs ran the world, ” explains Santiago.

“The goal honestly was to just make weird-vibey stuff that I thought would look sick in a surf or snowboard movie. Turned out some people enjoyed listening without the excitement of something on a screen.”

Mini Sants’ premiere single, Dancing In Daydreams, summed up the direction and identity of the project out the gate. A dreamy, sun soaked, reverb washed track which found itself at the top of the renowned sites like HYPE MACHINE, Stereofox, Electro Pose, and many more.

Doubling down on his orientation around the summertime sun, Mini Sants would follow up Dancing in Daydreams with Romeo, a bouncy pop single featuring GESS (which later included a remix package featuring remixes by EDES, Remote Places, Soldstyle, and Dabid Music), Eyes Wide Open (released on Justin Jay’s own Fantastic Voyage Records), and Stay Ft. Oli-J. Stay Ft. Oli-J would later receive remix duties from Los Angeles’ MIRAMAR which recently surpassed 100,000 plays on Spotify.

Now located in Brooklyn, Mini Sants is currently performing a variety of DJ Sets (Jupiter Disco, Sunsets Above The Ceiling, Summer Club) and recently launched his own performance and party series known as “The Splash Zone.” With several releases slotted for 2024 and 2025, we’re excited to see what comes next.
